Social Work Program Overview

Eastern New Mexico University social work programs fall under the umbrella of the School’s Department of Health and Human Services. In addition to social work, the department offers programs in nursing, communicative disorders, and emergency services. The social work program prepares graduates to become practitioners who are competent, ethical professionals in the field.

Online Social Work Programs

ENMU’s Department of Health and Human Services offers an online BSW program, and students can select a part-time or full-time track. The 120 credit curriculum typically requires four years to complete, unless students transfer credits into the program. This BSW does not include any on-campus requirements, as students complete field placements in their own communities. Admissions requirements for the online version of the program mirror those of its on-campus degree.

On-Campus Social Work Programs

Students can also complete ENMU’s BSW program on campus. The on-campus program mirrors its online counterpart in terms of admissions requirements, curriculum, and completion time. In both cases, students complete 61 credits of major coursework, which includes a field placement. In the on-campus program, students complete their field placement courses at placement sites in and around Portales.
